Jericho's Story
Jericho is a beautiful soul. We have had him from 2 months old when hubby suggested we get another GSD about a year after I lost my other boy Robo. So we answered an add on an advertising site and drove up to the Western Suburbs of Sydney to get him. He was the last of the litter to be sold.
When we arrived we were horrified at the conditions he and the other dogs were living in. The poor mum looked thin and tired. We took our sweet puppy home despite the severe skin condition he had contracted in that filth and promptly called the RSPCA to investigate the breeders. Turns out they were illegally breeding and operating what can only be described as a puppy farm.
It took us about 18 long, itchy, sore, torturous months to get his skin to come good and for all of his fur to grow. Despite his suffering, he must have known how hard we were trying to help him because he was always the sweetest, most gently big boy you could ever imagine. My little kids would cuddle and play all over him (and probably annoy) but he would just sit and smile.
He is getting old now, and a little slower but he still loves to roll on his back on the grass, all four legs in the air, wiggling and scratching his butt like a big fluffy bear. He plays with Jett and tolerates his doofy ways but his best friend is our black cat, Rebel.
